INTRODUCTION

CIPET: IPT - Bhubaneswar offers the UG/PG programmes in the area of science and engineering. In the inception, the Post Graduate (PG) programme M.Tech. in Plastics Engineering has been offered to the students from the year 2003 with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and in affiliation with Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, Odisha. Subsequently the other UG / PG programmes i.e. B.Tech. in Plastics Engineering (2008), M.Tech. in Polymer Nanotechnology (2009), B.Tech. in Manufacturing Engineering & Technology (2010) has been offered with the approval of AICTE and as well as in affiliation with BPUT, Rourkela. Recently CIPET:IPT-Bhubaneswar is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for its ongoing B.Tech. programmes i.e. B.Tech. in Plastics Engineering and B.Tech. in Manufacturing Engineering & Technology.

In addition to the above courses, CIPET: IPT - Bhubaneswar is offering 5-years Integrated M.Sc. (B.Sc. + M.Sc.) in Material Science and Engineering since 2010 and 2 years M.Sc. in Polymer Science since 2013. In the current academic year 2020-21 the 5-years Integrated M.Sc. (B.Sc. + M.Sc.) in Polymer Science and MS by Research in Polymer Science and Engineering are introduced. All the said courses are also affiliated with Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela.

The above courses are providing the suitable opportunities to the students for their career development and job prosperity in the top notch institutes and reputed plastics and allied industries. CIPET:IPT-Bhubaneswar has developed the industry-institute interface to provide better exposures and to maintain excellent placement track record for the students. Students of CIPET: IPT-Bhubaneswar are also getting the opportunities to join in the overseas universities for higher studies.

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

• UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMS

  i) B.TECH. IN PLASTICS ENGINEERING
  ii) B.TECH. IN MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY

  Duration : 4 years / 3 years (Lateral Entry)
  
  Entry Qualification :
   12th (10+2 Sc.) pass with average 45% marks in aggregate of the subjects Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry or allied subject.
   Lateral entry students with Diploma in Plastics Tech./Plastic Mould Tech./Mechanical/Chemical/Production/Automobiles/Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics Engg. and all other branches Or B.Sc. with minimum 45% marks .
  
  Eligibility and Selection Criteria :
   Selection & eligibility as per affiliating University norms. Selection is through CIPET Joint Entrance Examination.
  
• POSTGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMS

  i) M.TECH. IN PLASTICS ENGINEERING
  ii) M.TECH. IN POLYMER NANOTECHNOLOGY
  iii) MS BY RESEARCH IN POLYMER SCINECE & ENGINEERING

  Duration : 2 years (i & ii) & 3 years (iii)
  
  Entry Qualification :
  B.Tech. in Plastics Engg./Technology /Mechanical Engg./ Production Engg./Polymer Engg./Chemical Engg./Manufacturing Engg./Metallurgical Engg./Material Sc. &Engg./ Rubber & Plastics Tech.
  Or,
  M.Sc. in Polymer Sc./Polymer Chem./Polymer Phys./ Biopolymer Sc./Chemistry/ Applied Chem.
  
  Eligibility and Selection Criteria :
   Eligibility & Selection as per affiliating University norms. Selection is through CIPET Joint Entrance Examination or Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) [Refer : www.ojee.nic.in  / www.odishajee.com ]
   Scholarships from AICTE is available for students with valid GATE score.
