ORGANISATION CHART

The chart shows a hierarchical structure where the President – CIPET Governing Council (Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India)  oversees the Director General, who supervises both the Head Office and the Heads of Centres. The Head Office contains multiple directorates and departments, each led by senior officials with their respective teams. Below the Heads of Centres, three major centres - CSTS, IPT, and SARP - operate under Principal Directors / Directors or Sr. Principal Scientist, each with their own managers, officers, scientists, and technical staff. The President of the CIPET Governing Council (Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India) holds the highest authority in the organizational structure and provides overall governance and strategic oversight. The President supervises and guides the Director General, who reports directly to them, ensuring that all functions, directorates, departments, and centres operate in alignment with the organization's mission and policies. The Director General is positioned directly under the President – CIPET Governing Council (Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India) and serves as the primary executive authority. The Director General oversees the entire Head Office, including all its directorates and departments, and also supervises the Heads of Centres, ensuring coordination, administration, and strategic direction across all domains shown in the chart. The Head Office reports directly to the Director General and serves as the central administrative hub. Under the Head Office, it contains multiple Directorates/Departments: DG’s Office, Directorate of Academics, Skill Development Department, Directorate of Administration, Directorate of Finance, Directorate of Planning, Directorate of Business Development, and Directorate of Technology Support Services. Each directorate/department reports directly to the Director General and manages its respective functional areas, coordinating with other units to ensure smooth organizational operations and alignment with overall goals. The DG's Office functions directly under the Director General and provides essential administrative and executive support to ensure smooth coordination of all activities. It assists in communication, scheduling, documentation, and follow-up of directives issued by the Director General. Staff in the DG's Office work closely with various directorates and centres to streamline information flow and support organizational decision-making. The Sr. PS to DG (Senior Personal Secretary to the Director General) directly reports to the Director General. This position supports the Director General by managing schedules, communications, and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth operation of the DG's office and coordination with other departments. The Directorate of Academics reports directly to the Director General and oversees the Director (Academics & IQAC). The Directorate ensures academic quality and institutional development, coordinating training and educational activities to support the organization's goals. The Director (Academics & IQAC) reports directly to the Director General. The Director oversees academic programs and quality assurance through the IQAC, ensuring effective training and academic standards are maintained within the organization. The Manager (T) reports directly to the Director (Academics & IQAC) and supervises the Assistant Officer (Training). This role is responsible for managing training activities, ensuring smooth execution of academic programs, and supporting the overall educational goals set by the Directorate of Academics. The Assistant Officer (Training) reports directly to the Manager (T) under the Director (Academics & IQAC). This role supports training operations, helps organize educational programs, assists in implementation of training schedules, and ensures effective communication between trainees and management, contributing to the academic and skill development goals of the organization. The Chief Manager (INI, Incubation, Start-up) reports directly to the Director General and oversees initiatives related to incubation and start-up support. The Skill Development Department reports directly to the Director General and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing skill development and skill up gradation training programs. The In-Charge of Skill Development reports directly to the Director General. This role oversees day-to-day operations of skill development and skill up gradation training programs, coordinates with trainers and participants, monitors progress, ensures program objectives are met, and acts as a key link between the department and other organizational units to enhance workforce skills effectively. The Sr. Officer (F&A) reports to the Directorate of Finance under the Director General. This role manages financial and accounting operations, assists in budgeting, monitors expenditures, ensures compliance with financial regulations, and coordinates with other departments to support effective resource management and organizational financial planning. The Officer (F&A) reports to the Directorate of Finance under the Director General. This role manages social security-related financial matters, processes employee benefits, ensures compliance with statutory requirements, coordinates with HR and finance teams, and supports accurate accounting. The Directorate of Planning reports directly to the Director General and oversees organizational planning and strategy. It coordinates with other directorates to develop, monitor, and implement operational and developmental plans, ensures alignment with organizational goals, evaluates performance metrics, and supports decision-making processes for effective resource allocation and strategic growth. The Principal Director (Purchase: Civil & Technical Infrastructure) reports directly to the Director General. The Manager (Technical) reports to the Principal Director (Purchase: Civil & Technical Infrastructure) under the Directorate of Planning. This role oversees procurement processes, coordinates with project teams and vendors, ensures compliance with quality and technical standards, and supports the planning and execution of infrastructure projects to meet organizational objectives efficiently. The Directorate of Business Development reports directly to the Director General and drives growth initiatives. The Directorate of Technology Support Services reports directly to the Director General and oversees technical infrastructure. The Director (TSS & BD) reports directly to the Director General and supervises both the Technology Support Services and Business Development directorates. The Information & Documentation Officer reports to the Director (TSS & BD) and manages data, records, and documentation processes. The PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) Cell reports to the Director (TSS & BD) and operates under the Directorate of Technology Support Services. The Sr. Technical Officer reports to the PDI Cell under the Director (TSS & BD). This role supervises pre-delivery inspections, ensures products meet technical and quality standards, coordinates with technical teams, maintains inspection records, and supports effective delivery and compliance within organizational protocols. The Heads of Centres report directly to the Director General and oversee individual centres within the organization. They manage operations, staff, and programs at their respective centres, coordinate with central directorates for policy implementation, ensure compliance with organizational standards, and serve as the primary link between their centres and higher management for efficient functioning and reporting. The Centre for Skilling and Technical Support (CSTS) is headed by a Principal Director or Director, who manages the overall functioning of the centre. The Centre Head reports directly to the Director General – CIPET, while all associated officials at the CSTS centre report to the Principal Director or Director. The centre coordinates with the Skill Development Department and other units to implement training programs, provide technical guidance, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. The Institute of Petrochemicals Technology (IPT) is headed by a Principal Director or Director, who oversees all activities of the centre. The Centre Head reports directly to the Director General – CIPET, while all associated officials at the IPT centre report to the Principal Director or Director. The institute coordinates with the Directorate of Academics, Skill Development Department, and other units to implement academic programs, provide technical training, and ensure compliance with industry and organizational standards. The School for Advanced Research in Petrochemicals (SARP) is headed by a Principal Director or Sr. Principal Scientist, who manages the overall functioning of the centre. The Centre Head reports directly to the Director General – CIPET, while all associated officials at the SARP centre report to the Principal Director or Sr. Principal Scientist. The centre coordinates with relevant departments to conduct advanced research, provide technical guidance, and support innovation aligned with organizational and industry objectives.
