Dr.sania akhtar has received all her education at IIT Kharagpur.she completed M.sc.(chemistry) then went on to do M.Tech & Ph.D.(Rubber Technology). After obtaining Ph.D. for her thesis on Rubber-plastics Blends, she did post doctoral Research work for 4 years in USA. The subject of her postdoctoral research was “High performance, high strength plastics blends and composites”. Thereafter, she worked at the national chemical laboratory, pune for two years and then joined CIPET Mysore center in July 2007. |

Dr. akhtar has published 25 research papers in international journals and is the author of 3 European Patents. Her research interests include- polymers blends and alloys, nanocomposittes, biodegradable polymers and characterization of polymers. |

Dr.Akhtar has received national science Talent scholarship, First Rank in B.sc. (Hons) (chemistry) and was awarded the best Thesis awarded for her M.Tech thesis. She is a certified ISO and NABL auditor. |

At CIPET Dr.akhtar is involved in teaching and research activities apart from her administrative responsibilities. She teaches Plastics Materials, Polymer science Fundamentals, Quality Management, polymer Blends and Alloys, Plastics waste management to M.Tech (plastic Engineering) and postgraduate Diploma students. She also gives consultancy on Application Development issues in the field of plastics as well as on ISO 17025 for laboratory management systems. |
