VISION

To be a premier institute with globally accepted standards for Academics, Skill Development & Technology Support Services in the domain of Plastics/ Petrochemicals.


MISSION

  • To provide academic programs aligned with international quality assessment standards in the field of Plastics /Petrochemicals with emphasis on Processing, Testing, and Design & Tooling domains and to develop qualified human resources for serving Plastics/ Petrochemicals Industries.
  • To provide Skill Development Training Programs aligned with standards of Rubber, Chemical & Petrochemical Skill Development Council (RCPSDC) under broader umbrella of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India to serve Plastics/ Petrochemicals Industries with certified skilled manpower for their various domains of manufacturing activities.
  • To provide Technology Support Consultancy Services; to Plastics/ Petrochemicals Industries in the domains of Design, Tooling, Processing, Testing & Quality Assurance and Inspection Services; validated through internationally accepted Quality Management Systems.

DEPARTMENT OF PLASTICS TECHNOLOGY


VISION

To acquire excellence in the field of Plastics Engineering and meet the global challenges of industries.


MISSION

  • Impart excellent Training in Plastics Field and produce best Diploma Plastics Technicians to cater the Manpower Needs of Plastics Industries.
  • Best Hands-on-Practical Training for acquiring Technical, Operational and Maintenance skills required for Plastics industries.
  • Indoctrinate Human values along with the Technical Training and mould the student with social, economical and moral values.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (POs)

PO1:- Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.

PO2:- Problem analysis: Identify and analyse well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.

PO3:- Design/ Development of Solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical problems & assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.

PO4:- Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.

PO5:- Engineering Practices for Society, Sustainability and Environment: Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.

PO6:- Project Management: Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities.

PO7:- Life-long learning: Ability to analyse individual needs and engage in updating in the context of technological changes.


PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)

PSO1:- An ability to understand the concepts of basic Plastic product Manufacturing processes and to apply them to various areas like Raw material modification, Processing, Quality assurance & Design of Product, Mould & Dies.

PSO2:- An ability to solve complex problems of Plastic product Manufacturing, using latest hardware and software tools, along with analytical skills to arrive cost effective and appropriate solutions maintaining the quality inline to the Standards.

PSO3:- An ability to develop social wisdom and environmental awareness along with ethical responsibility in a successful career and to sustain in real-world applications using optimal resources as an Entrepreneur.


PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

PEO-01:- Develop fundamental understanding of the basic and engineering sciences and develop analytical & technical skills required for plastics technologist.

PEO-02:- Develop in-depth core competency with live industrial shop-floor exposure in the field of quality plastics processing.

PEO-03:- Develop professionals with integrity and strong ethical values for sustainable society.

PEO-04:- Develop professional with ability of effective soft skills & learning ability for engineering management.


DEPARTMENT OF PLASTICS MOULD TECHNOLOGY


VISION

To enrich professionals with knowledge, skill and attitude for the manufacturing of quality moulds for plastic products.


MISSION

  • To develop high level competency in design, manufacturing and inspection of the Moulds, Dies and Tools.
  • To train the students with state-of-the-art advanced machining techniques using CAD/CAM/CAE software for mould development.
  • To impart the students with technical skills through hands-on practical training, industrial visits and computer-based simulation.
  • To establish effective interaction with Industry, Institutions / Organizations.

PSO1:- The capacity to interpret the theory of Plastic Mould Design & Manufacturing using the latest tools to make mould elements in compliance with relevant specifications.

PSO2:- The capacity to identify and resolve the problems in the area of Manufacturing of Plastic Moulds & Dies.


PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

PEO-01:- Provide competency to the students to identify the machining process, plan tooling, design & development of the mould and dies.

PEO-02:- Professionally develop the students to perform operations on machines including computer-based automated machines for manufacturing mould elements.

PEO-03:- To inculcate students with leadership skills with high level of integrity and ethical values for team building and team work.

PEO-04:- To motivate student to upgrade their technical skill and knowledge through lifelong learning.
