Advanced Tooling and Plastics Product Development Centre (ATPDC), a unit of CIPET Chennai was established at the Temple City – Madurai in March 2010. The Foundation Stone was laid for establishing the centre on 6th March, 2010 at Madurai by Shri M.K. Alagiri, Hon’ble Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India. CAD/CAM centre was inaugurated on the same day. The Centre is now functioning at the Commercial Complex, near Mattuthavani Bus Stand. The Centre has started functioning from a temporary location and two long term courses have commenced from 16.08.10 with an intake of 90 students. Govt. of Tamilnadu has sanctioned a land of 19 Acres at Mukkambatti village. The CAD/CAM centre has imparted training to 120 students.

The following two long term courses are offered at the centre:

• 1 Year Integratged Post Diploma in Plastics Mould Design (PD-PMD)

• 3 Year Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology (DPMT)

The following CAD/CAM courses are offered at the CAD/CAM centre:

• CAD using AUTO CAD

• CAD using PRO/Engineering

• CAD using Unigraphics

• CAD using CATIA

• CAD/CAM using ProEngineer

• CAD/CAM using Unigraphics

• CAD/CAM using CATIA

• CAD/CAM using Unigraphics with Mould Wizard

• Dual Program on CAD using PRO-E & UG

• Dual Program on CAD using UG & CATIA

 
     
  Industry Based Courses  
 

• Skill Development Programs - 3 Months Operators training on Injection Moulding / Extrusion /    CNC Lathe, Milling, EDM, Wirecut.

• Supervisors, Executives & Managers - 2 to 3 days Industry Specific program on mould Design &    Manufacturing, CAD/CAM, etc.
