Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET) is a premier institution, fully devoted to manpower training and technical services to the Plastics and allied industries. CIPET has been accredited with ISO 9001:2000 certification on "DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND CONDUCT OF SPECIALIZED TRAINING COURSES IN Plastics ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY AND RENDERING TECHNICAL/ CONSULTANCY SERVICES IN DESIGN, TOOLING, Plastics PROCESSING & TESTING TO THE Plastics & ALLIED INDUSTRY".

 
 

CIPET was first established in 1968 at Chennai under the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India with the assistance of UNDP. Over the years, the need and necessity of CIPET services was felt by various State Governments and presently Institute has presence at 15 States of the Country in Tamil Nadu (Chennai), Gujarat (Ahmedabad), Punjab (Amritsar), Madhya Pradesh (Bhopal), Orissa (Bhubaneswar), Andhra Pradesh (Hyderabad), Manipur (Imphal), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow), Karnataka (Mysore), Bihar (Hajipur), West Bengal (Haldia) and Assam (Guwahati). Recently, Government of India has approved establishment of New CIPET Centres in States of Rajashthan, Maharashtra and Haryana. The institute has been playing a pivotal role for the development of Plastics and allied industries.
