“CIPET has travelled a journey of 40 years and I look back at the growth and development of the Institute across the Nation and our collaboration at International Levels. My tribute to all Presidents of the Governing Council, Members of the past and present Governing Council, Ministry Officials, Past Directors and Director Generals and CIPET Team members who have contributed for the transformation of CIPET from a Monomer into Polymer Composites. |

The ATR concept which was visualized a year back has been accomplished during the year 2008 -09. CIPET team has carried out highly competitive multi –faceted activities. The Four CIPET Centres viz. Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Chennai and Lucknow have been transformed into High Learning Centres with introduction of High –end Academic Programmes and we will be introducing three more Academic Programmes at these centres in the academic year 2010-2011. Action has been initiated for procurement of additional equipment/machinery and for the creation of digital library and modernizing the existing library at these four centres. |

During the year 2008 -09, CIPET has undertaken 4 National Feasibility Studies entrusted by Dept. of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Evaluation study of 11 Tool Room & Training Centres under Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises and Study on establishment and Impact of Biodegradable Plastics on Environment/Food Sponsored by Central Pollution Control Board. 13 papers were published by LARPM in the International Journals with high impact factors and completed 15 Research Papers in the area of Bio –Polymers and Nano – composites as well as 15 M.Tech. and 02 Ph.D. Thesis. |

The hard work of CIPET team has made it possible to achieve a tremendous increase in the resource generation in spite of the economic meltdown in the International Scenario. At this moment I congratulate Mr.Joseph Bensingh, Tech. Officer, CIPET Chennai and Mr. Virendra Singh, Sr. Technician, CIPET Guwahati who have contributed independently for the significant achievement of internal resources and declare them as the Best Performers of the Year 2008 -09. |
